Through The Chain

Through The Chain, is inspired by Sissy Gust’s love of fashion and mediums within the fashion industry umbrella. This collection is composed of accessories, such as headpieces, tops and skirts/belts, and are entirely made of chains and beads. The inspiration arose from her interest in Haute Couture fashion, a category that focuses on handcrafted and unique design, and chainwork that goes beyond the modern uses. Gust sources her materials in Houston and Austin, where material quality and uniqueness play a major role in what she finds potential in. The making process is entirely based on trial and error. Each piece is one of a kind and custom fit to the model/wearer. These pieces are then styled for photoshoots that embody the energy of each piece. Moving further with this project, Gust wants to make custom and one of a kind pieces that embody Haute Couture characteristics and further her knowledge of design.
